How it Works
From Donation to Dignity—Every Step Matters
Behind every new pair of shoes is a process grounded in care, respect, and relationship. At Wholly Kicks, we don’t just drop off shoes—we walk with people from start to finish. Here’s how it all comes together.

1. Donations Come In
Wholly Kicks receives new shoes, socks, and laces from individuals, businesses and partners. Every item we distribute is clean, unworn, and ready to wear with pride.
We only give new shoes—because dignity starts with something fresh.
2. Prep and Inventory
Volunteers meet regularly at our storage site to unbox, sort, size, and label shoes. This work is done with intention and care to ensure every item is event-ready.
- ~16 volunteer hours per event prep
- 47+ bins packed into our trailer
- Items sorted by size and need

3. Delivered With Care
Shoes are packed up and transported to a specific event—hosted at a trusted partner location such as a Title 1 school, shelter, or nonprofit.
There, a team of volunteers welcomes individuals with kindness, patience, and a commitment to letting them choose the perfect fit.
Our friends try on as many pairs as they need. When they find the right one, you can see the transformation.

4. A Fresh Start
Each person leaves with more than shoes—they leave feeling seen, supported, and respected. Whether it’s a child walking confidently into school, or an adult stepping into a job interview, every pair creates new possibility.

5. The Impact Continues
The shoes may leave the event, but the relationship doesn’t stop there. Wholly Kicks continues to partner with schools, shelters, and organizations across Aurora and Denver to meet needs and deepen trust over time.
